House Update

With our second work day, we knocked out all of the cleaning that needed to happen in the back apartment, which was left full of sixty years of belongings. That is the apartment that Christa, Timothy, and the girls will be moving into. Most was relocated until we can sort through it.

But the removal of all old treasures and trash was only the first step. As of last week , our contractors started to work in the apartment. Things have been moving quickly since then. First they ripped stuff out. They took out the kitchen and smashed some wall shelving. They also took up the cat-pee carpet! That's what has been happening in the house: smashing, tearing down, and then putting in the new.

We've been at little stressed due to the demands for material. Tip: Have all your materials picked out and purchased or prepared before you go to start a project. We learned this the hard way. Scrambling to pick up flooring and counter top (and learning you have to order some flooring, and IKEA doesn't have counter tops over 8 ft.) Things are moving fast and we need to give more energy then we sometimes can to keeping up with them, but it's exciting--and maybe part of the truest form of our community.
